3/9/2023 0 Comments Gaia project wiki![]() Merchant's maps are awesome, but we haven't used the ships yet. If the game is just slightly better, we stay where we are.ĮDIT 2: I bought TM Merchants AND Gaia Project too. So my main question is to players who played the 2 games: which game has the overall better gaming experience? we love the look and theme of TM way better, but if Gaia that much better, I should rather get a copy of that, and not an expansion for TM. With the Merchants expansions, shipping and trading will be available in TM, so that would create new opportunities for actions too. I haven't find any other big differences, is there something I missed? maybe the factions have better balance? Seems a bit off for me.ĭon't know how the knowledge or the quantum cubes change the overall gaming experience, I guess they are there as ways to do something as an action. The Gaia project action is something I don't really understand, maybe the goal is to have another way to do something in your turn, I don't know. The tech tracks are improvements, howewer I read it can made the game less map focused. The modular map is a great thing, but only important if you play the game a lot, we are regular gamers, the 3 maps of TM (basic + 2 of the expansion's) should be okay. The differences are: modular map, tech tracks, the action of Gaia project (I'm not sure if any of the TM expansions have something similar), and maybe the knowledge and quantom cubes. To know the key differences between the 2, I watched a few videos about GP rules, and read the rulebook. That made me think, maybe I shouldn't spend my money on TM expansions, just buy a GP (despite I hate how it looks). I wanted to buy the Merchants expansion, but I read everywhere that GP is a better version of TM. I chose it because I liked the look and the theme better.
